Black Panther opened yesterday in the UK and Ireland. It took an impressive £2.67million with many more screenings opening up for the blockbsuter at the weekend.
This spectacular result sees Black Panther hold the highest-grossing single day at the UK box office in 2018. It also beats the opening days of Marvel Studios’ own Thor: Ragnarok and Doctor Strange as well as 20th Century Fox’s Deadpool.
Deadpool went on to gross $783milion at the global box office while Ragnarok hit $853million.
Black Panther is also riding high on an unprecedented social media wave, boosted by a whopping 98% score on Rotten Tomatoes.

After initial estimates of $100 million were raised to $125million, US ticket booking agency Fandango reported that the movie was breaking its all-time preorder records. With social media support sweelina nd major stars buying out entire screenings for underprivileged kids, teh film has becoem a phenomenal.
Some industry sites are now predicting the Marvel movie could take a whopping $170million.
Disney is modestly officially expecting ¢150million, but the new king of Wakanda is universally expected to claw his way past that.
