Monster Hunter World meets Horizon Zero Dawn

Monster Hunter World players can unlock Horizon Zero Dawn gear

Monster Hunter World fans can unlock exclusive new DLC on PS4.

Capcom has revealed new details about The Proving event in Monster Hunter World.

Players can unlock Horizon Zero Dawn armour and lead character Aloy’s bow by completing The Proving.

Capcom has provided players with a brief guide on how to unlock the armour, which involves reaching level 11.

Reaching level 11 is the beginning, however, as players will also need to face a giant Anjanath.

“The Proving is fast approaching!” reads a Capcom tweet. “Get to Hunter Rank 11 by February 28 and face a giant Anjanath to get the Horizon Zero Dawn hunter gear. (PS4 exclusive)”

As Capcom points out, the Aloy armour set can’t be used with other pieces of armour.

Likewise, player characters equipped with the Aloy set will resemble the Horizon Zero Dawn protagonist, regardless of gender.

“Unlike layered armour, which only changes appearances, full armour sets activate a predetermined set of skills, and can even be upgraded at the Smithy,” Capcom adds.

The Monster Hunter World event begins on February 28 and runs until March 5.

The original Proving event gave players the chance to unlock Horizon Zero Dawn gear for your Palico.

Of course, beating a regular Anjanath is easier said than done, let alone a giant one.

Players should prepare by crafting fire-resistant armour to minimise its attacks.

Likewise, if you want to do the most damage, then a water infused weapon should do the most damage.

You should also look for opportunities to lure the beast into battles with other monsters.
