Emerson Palmieri is expected to start for Chelsea against Hull in the FA Cup
Chelsea signed Emerson Palmieri from Roma last month in a deal worth £26million but he is yet to feature for the Blues.
Fans were frustrated not to see him in action in the 3-0 win over West Brom on Monday night, particularly as Marcos Alonso did not start the game.
However, Antonio Conte has suggested it will not be long before the supporters get to see the 23-year-old full-back in action.
And he has hinted both Palmieri and defensive midfielder Ethan Ampadu could be given the chance to impress against Hull in the FA Cup on Friday evening (8pm).
Ethan Ampadu will also be given his chance to shine against Hull in the FA Cup
When asked if he would shake things up for the cup clash, Conte told Chelsea TV: “Yes, but first of all, I want to tell you that we want to go through to the next round.
“We want to try to win this game and then to prepare also our confidence in the right way before the games against Barcelona and then two tough games in the league against [Manchester] United and City.
“But at the same time I think that my players deserve a chance, players like Ampadu deserve to play.
“For sure Emerson is ready to play from the start. But for sure we want to win.”
Chelsea’s fans have been told to expect big things from Palmieri in particular, with his agent Federico Pastorello singing his praises earlier this month.
“Best January signing? Emerson Palmieri at Chelsea,” Pastorello told Italian newspaper Tuttosport.
“And I’m not just saying that because I was involved in the deal.
“You’ll see. He’ll be a beautiful surprise for the Blues.”
