Coronation Street fans have watched Gary Windass (played by Mikey North) live a relatively normal life after news spread that Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre) was dead.

Sadly for Gary, Pat did not die and is currently conjuring up his revenge plan ahead of his return to Weatherfield.

Evil business man Pat will come face-to-face with Gary after the former finds out mum-to-be Nicola Rubinstein (Nicola Thorp) has made a new friend on a parenting website who resides in Abergele, Wales.

Suspecting something is terribly wrong, Gary will run a background check of his own on Nicola’s new mate and discover the person matches the description of Pat and is living in a caravan park in Wales.

Desperate to learn the truth, Gary will enlist his pal Joe to follow him to Abergele, where they rummage around the caravan in question after spotting Pat in the distance.

In pictures recently published Gary is seen confronting Pat before a violent showdown ensues where Pat is shown wielding a bat.

Will their brutal tussle lead to Gary’s death? Or could Pat finally get his comeuppance once and for all?

Either way, Pat is sure to go down fighting as Connor, who plays the cruel builder, hinted the murderer may strike again.

Connor revealed: “Everybody is in danger, everybody on the Street. Imagine Pat Phelan loose on the Street with nothing to lose.

“So there’ll be people involved who really you wouldn’t expect to be involved.”

Pat is on the run after police found the bodies he buried and since he was exposed as a serial killer his wife Eileen and daughter Nicola have both disowned him.

With nothing left for him to lose, Pat will be as ruthless as ever, Connor explained: “His greatest desire in composes his doom, can you imagine?

“Everybody he loves had abandoned him and now he’s heading back to the Street and he’s not happy. One can only imagine what that means.”

Coronation Street producer Kate Oates suggested Gary and his girlfriend Sarah Platt (Tina O’Brien) could be two of Pat’s potential victims.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk, she teased: “[Pat’s] going to come back, Gary is heavily involved in this because don’t forget that this whole storyline started with his mum.

“It was the rape of Anna Windass that began the whole kind of dark process, so he’s going to be heavily involved in it.

“Maybe he’s involved in what brings Phelan back to the Street, so that’s quite a big thing.”

Kate added: “That is going to bring Sarah into the mix as well.

“Tina gives such a brilliant performance. I’m looking forward to seeing that and it’s all going to be set against Robert and Michelle’s wedding.”

Coronation Street continues tonight on ITV at 7.30pm and 8.30pm.
