But on Wednesday, fans were left perplexed when Richard ‘Dickie’ Wilkins debuted his new orange-toned tresses.
Co-hosting Today Extra alongside Sonia Kruger, the 63-year-old’s locks were styled somewhat flatter than usual and they had a noticeably tangerine tinge.

It’s not the first time Richard’s hair has sparked discussion, and he is believed to be rather touchy about the subject.
In fact, there is a Twitter account dedicated to his trademark ‘do – and it even counts Today show staffers among its followers.

Meanwhile, since his return from holidays, Today’s Karl Stefanovic appears to be displaying noticeably darker locks, perhaps the result of a dye job.
Before his recent Byron Bay trip with girlfriend Jasmine Yarbrough and pals, the 43-year-old was sporting grey sprigs of hair on the sides.
Last year, Richard walked off set after co-star Sylvia Jeffreys compared to his mane to that of a stegosaurus.

After a viral video of a toddler yelling at an apparent T-Rex off-screen was played, Sylvia joked that they must’ve been yelling at Dickie’s hair.
‘Maybe it’s Dickie’s hair!’ she giggled.
But Sylvia didn’t stop there, launching into a description of Richard’s bouffant mane complete with hand gestures: ‘Well it is the T-Rex – oh no that’s the other one – the stegosaurus.’
‘Are you saying Dickie is a dinosaur?’ co-host Tim Gilbert asked Sylvia, who replied: ‘I’m saying he has got magnificent hair.’
However, Dickie was having none of it and walked off set. He did not return for an hour.
