Fortnite's Twitter account has warned players against the threat of imposters offering "false mobile download links".
The tweet came late last night from the official account and confirmed that the developers have still not sent any download codes out for anyone who signed up to be amongst the first to play the game on mobile and tablet.
Fortnite's official tweet read:
This also follows on from a past warning tweeted out by the social media team warning against people offering "free" V-Bucks, the in-game currency for the game.
"PSA: Visiting websites or clicking links claiming “free” Vbucks or in-game items are unsafe. The official Fortnite website is http://Fortnite.com . Guard your account information and DO NOT trust third-party websites with your account information!"
It's all sound information and it should be remembered that there are a lot of people across social media sites, especially Twitter, claiming to offer V-Bucks or mobile download links.
It's likely this will only escalate further when the codes are actually sent out, but for now, don't trust anything unless it comes from the official Fortnite account. If you're yet to sign up you can still do so, just follow the details underneath the gallery.
FORTNITE MOBILE - HOW TO SIGN UP?
Players can sign-up at www.Fortnite.com for the chance to be one of the first to play the game on Apple iOS devices.
Email invites will start rolling out "soon thereafter" but no official date has been shared just yet. However, Paul Tassi, a journalist over at Forbes, has
“I spoke with Epic Creative Director Donald Mustard who told me that the initial codes will be going out later this week instead”
When you are invited, you will receive an email with a link to download the game from the App Store. If you don’t receive an invite right away, don’t worry, Epic will get round to you eventually over the coming months.
Players who do receive invites from Epic will also get additional friend invite codes to share with friends.
