Fortnite Battle Royale players are set to receive some brand new weekly challenges this morning for the Week 7 Battle Pass on PS4, Xbox, PC and Mobile.

The Fortnite game servers will be not be going down this morning, as the games content update took place earlier this week. Although there has been some small tweaks with the release of the new 4.4.1 update.

Every week there's an increase in Fortnite players, such is the popularity of the game, so it's probably worth a quick recap on how these weekly challenges work. So here it is:

Each week a new set of seven challenges unlock. These Weekly Challenges stack and can be completed any time before the season ends.

So if you go on holiday and miss one week, you can still complete them when you get back online.

Although there are seven challenges each week, you can only complete four out of the seven Weekly Challenges to unlock your rewards and 4000 XP, so choose the challenges that best fit your style and those offering the most Battle Stars.

One of the tasks presented by Epic Games this week worth 5 Battle Stars, reads: "follow the treasure map found in Pleasant Park".

Those of you looking for a quick explainer are in luck. Keep reading and check out the gallery (below) to discover how to complete this new weekly challenge with minimal fuss.

Fortnite Week 7 Challenges:

• Deal damage with a Pickaxe to opponents (0/250)
• Search Chests in Risky Reels (0/7)
• Consume Foraged items (0/20)
• Score a goal on different pitches (0/3)
• Follow the treasure map found in… (HARD) (0/1)
• Assault Rifle eliminations (HARD) (0/5)
• Eliminate opponents in Shifty Shafts (HARD) (0/3)

Rest assured we'll have a guide to help with those more tricky challenges closer to their release.

It's also worth noting that whilst the above challenges are highly likely to appear in the game this Thursday morning, there is the chance that Epic Games makes some changes.

For example, the Week 5 Challenges didn't include the gravity stones challenge when they eventually went live. So whilst we're pretty confident these are the challenges you'll be presented with, there's also a chance some amends could be made.

Although, usually this occurs when a challenge involves a new in-game mechanic in the game and we see no reason to believe Week 6 will run into any such problems.

FORTNITE CHALLENGES EXPLAINED

New to the game? Want to know how those weekly Battle Pass challenges work? Read on:

Each week a new set of seven challenges unlock. The Weekly Challenges stack and can be completed any time before the season ends.

So if you go on holiday and miss one week, you can still complete them when you get back.

Although there are seven challenges each week, you can only complete four out of the seven Weekly Challenges to unlock your rewards and 4000 XP, so choose the challenges that best fit your style and those offering the most Battle Stars.

Why complete the challenges? Well, it helps you move up the Season 4 Battle Pass tiers even faster in the game. Move up faster, unlock more rewards, skins and other bonuses is quicker.

Complete all weekly challenges as part of the Blockbuster challenge and you unlock a new loading screen - details on the Week 6 loading screen can be seen in the gallery above - and the location of a hidden Battle Star somewhere in the map.

There are a total of 100 tiers in Season 4, so if you want to unlock as much loot as possible you better get a shift on and get to work completing the challenges.
