New Fortnite Season 5 skins have leaked

As we get closer to the new season of Fortnite Battle Royale, we’re learning more about its central theme and what will be included in the official battle pass.

A few Fortnite season 5 skins have leaked already through data mining efforts, which have also helped fans build a better picture of what is being released later today.

And fans don’t have to wait long before things start to kick off, with Fortnite Season 5 needing some server downtime before going live.

This will begin at around 9am, BST, and will be followed by an update and the servers going back online with new content.

And it looks like we just got a quick peek at some of the new Fortnite battle pass items coming to the game.

A new season 5 leak appears to have been found on the Xbox One dashboard, before being quickly removed.

Screenshots have been taken and luckily fit in with the idea of the historical/time travel theme that has been hinted at in recent weeks.

A female Viking sporting war paint can be seen next to what looks to be a modern soldier and a person wearing a Japanese Kitsune mask.

While the military skin may come as a bit of a surprise, the other two have already been teased by Epic Games.

Earlier leaks have also suggested that a new Egyptian Pharaoh look could be added to the game, along with Wild West themed gear.

And that’s withholding any new stuff that Epic Games might have planned for season 5.

Season 4 saw the introduction of sprays to the battle pass, so a new item could also make its debut this week.

As in the past, Epic Games are expected to charge around 950 V-Bucks for a battle pass, which will include 100 tiers to unlock.

It should be noted that the official unveiling of the new season 5 battle pass hasn’t happened yet, so we’ll have to wait for the full details to be shared later today.

Here’s the latest from Epic Games on today’s planned downtime, and when the new patch notes will be shared:

“Season 5 approaches, explore the rift! Downtime begins at 4 AM Eastern Time (0800 GMT) tomorrow, July 12.

“Patch Notes will be available as soon as downtime begins and we’ll update you once you once servers are back online, and you can explore everything new for yourself.

“Any previous replays you have saved will be unplayable in the new build. So make sure to create any last minute content you have saved in your replays.

“We also have many new things coming your way, due to this the patch size will be larger than usual.

“So make sure you have that auto-update ready! There is also the potential you may also experience slower download speeds.

“We cannot wait for you to hop in, explore and experience Season 5 and we’ll update you once downtime ends!”

Fortnite Battle Royale is a free-to-play title developed by Epic Games and currently available to download on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Switch, Mac and iOS.
