Fortnite Battle Royale gets a new update on June 13

is getting a brand new update today, as Epic Games gets ready to release patch 4.4.1.

According to a new Epic Games tweet, the new Fortnite update will go live at 9am UK time on June 14.

Fortunately, however, it doesn’t look like a big update, so no offline downtime is required.

This means the weekly challenges will be available at the usual time of 9am BST.

“We’ll be releasing patch v4.4.1 tomorrow June 14 at 4:00AM ET (08:00 GMT),” reads an Epic tweet. “There will be no downtime but you may need to restart to catch the update.”

It’s unclear exactly what will be included in the update, but according to the Fortnite Trello board, shopping carts could be re-introduced.

The early Fortnite patch notes suggest that matchmaking issues will be fixed on Switch and that the right side fire button will be fixed on mobile.

The only question is whether these patch notes apply to today’s 4.4.1 update, or if they will be fixed for next week’s 4.4.2 update.

The current list of Fortnite patch notes can be found below…

“Due to a vehicle related physics crash in v.4.4 we have temporarily disabled Shopping Carts,” reads an Epic post.

“There is currently a high rate of matcmaking failures experienced by Switch players. Closing the game application and relaunching will fix the issue and a permanent fix is incoming ASAP today (6/12/18).

“The right side fire button may be removed from HUD if you updated the app with tap to fire turned off. We are aware of the issue and working on a fix.

“Players are unable to initially search objects immediately after sprinting up to them. The player will have to stand completely still in front of the object and then loot it. If the player sprints up to an object this results in the animation and sound cue playing for searching the object but the player doesn’t actually search it.”

The news comes as Fortnite week 7 challenges prepare to launch on PS4, Xbox One, PC, iOS and Nintendo Switch.

As with other weeks, the list of Fortnite challenges have allegedly leaked ahead of the Battle Pass tasks officially going live.

One of the challenges tasks players with scoring goals on different pitches.

There will also be another treasure map challenge, and one task in which players deal damage with the pickaxe.
