Blizzard has announced the next content drop for Hearthstone – and it goes back to examine the mechs that were the center of the game’s earliest expansion.
Called The Boomsday Project, the expansion will launch for the game across iOS, Android and PC on August 7.
The expansion will see a massive 135 cards added to the game, and will be the first time Blizzard has revisited mechs since 2014. The expansion will also introduce new mechanics.
One new mechanic is Magnetic – which allows cards to share stats and powers once combined.
The expansion will also drop new Legendary spells for each class. Legendary minions and weapons have been in the game before, but Legendary spells are a new addition.
Omega cards are also getting introduced – these cards will take on different properties if you manage to hold them until you have 10 mana crystals… making them very good for comebacks or for reversals.
The game will also be given a new single-player campaign when The Boomsday Project launches.
The mode will be called The Puzzle Lab – but right now not a lot more about this mode is known. We’re expecting more information to be announced by Blizzard soon.
Blizzard will hold a The Boomsday Project card reveal livestream will at 10:00 am PST on July 23 at twitch.tv/playhearthstone.
