Liverpool news: Bayern Munich have been tipped to appoint Jurgen Klopp as manager
Liverpool face Manchester City tonight in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final.
The Reds go into the game favourites to emerge having blitzed City 3-0 in the first leg at Anfield.
However, given how formidable Pep Guardiola’s team have been this season, nobody is discounting the Premier League leaders.
Liverpool, should they go through, are expected to be in a pot also consisting of European heavyweights Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid.
All three teams are primed to progress having secured healthy first leg leads.
And Bayern boss Heynckes has sensationally revealed he would love to face Liverpool and go up against Klopp.
“No matter which Spanish teams progress into the semifinals, Real or Barcelona, we can beat both,” he confidently claimed.
“I would like Jurgen Klopp, with his Liverpool team, to make it to the semi-finals.”
Klopp, meanwhile, has urged Liverpool to beware of a City ‘thunderstorm’.
"I saw the game of City vs United at the weekend,” he said.

“It was one of the best first halves I ever saw. It was like a thunderstorm.
"Then, in the second half, after the first goal, one team gains rhythm, another team loses rhythm. The game changes.
"I cannot tell the boys: 'Boys! Score early!' Well, I can but I am not sure that it really helps.
"We have to think about football: what we have to do, where we have to do it. The boys knew after the (first) game this is half-time. We are in the lead, nothing else."
