Luton bus crash: 13 people have been injured in the rush-hour smash
Luton town centre has ground to a halt with emergency responders urging people to avoid the area.
Two buses were involved in the crash near Station Road. Photos taken at the scene show two buses which appear to have crashed head-on.
At least one of the windscreens has shattered with the fronts of both buses crumpled due to the force of the impact.
Two people were initially trapped following the crash but have since been freed and rushed to hospital.

Bedfordshire Police said 13 people were hurt with one man in a critical condition.
They tweeted: “13 have been taken to hospital for treatment following a collision between two buses on New Bedford Road in #Luton. One man is in a critical condition.”
They also urged people not to share images of injured people on social media.
And Luton and Dunstable Hospital have requested people avoid going to A&E with “non-life-threatening illnesses”.
