The latest OnePlus 6 leak reveals some truly impressive benchmark scores

OnePlus’ all-new flagship smartphone, , has suffered another leak.

Technology blog AndroidCentral has published fresh details about the performance of the next-generation handset.

Speaking to a source closely connected with OnePlus, the technology blog was able to obtain an AnTuTu benchmark score for the announced smartphone.

The OnePlus 6 purportedly scored an overall score of 276,510 – a significant step-up from the previous flagship from the company, OnePlus 5T, which scored 212,558.

Benchmark tests, like AnTuTu, are designed to help users quickly compare performance across different computers and different platforms without getting bogged down in details of specs.

If the leaked benchmark score is accurate, OnePlus 6 will be faster than the Samsung Galaxy S9, which clocked-in at 241,470 in the AnTuTu test.

Even the £999 only managed a score of 226,000.

Obviously, benchmark scores are not indicative of real-world performance – which is based on a slew of different factors.

But while we would never recommend making a phone purchase based solely on the results of a benchmark app, it does hint at the sheer power OnePlus purportedly plans to include in its new hardware.

This could be used to power some interesting new computational photography features, or make the smartphone an ideal choice for those who enjoy graphic-intensive video games on-the-go.

Elsewhere, the leaked AnTuTu screenshots obtained by AndroidCentral appear to corroborate earlier leaked photos of the OnePlus 6 design.

The screenshots reveal a conspicuous space at the top of the display, with the clock pushed over to the left and a swathe of icons housed in the right-hand corner.

The telltale blank space in the middle appears to confirm earlier rumours OnePlus 6 will ship with a iPhone X-style notch in the edge-to-edge display.

According to AndroidCentral, OnePlus 6’s aspect ratio will be 19:9 — effectively 18:9 with a little extra space up top for the notch.

An increasing number of smartphone manufacturers are adopting the notch display design, including ASUS, Ulefone, Doogee, and Noa.

Leaked photos of the latest flagship smartphones from Huawei and LG suggest both companies will also ship devices with a notch in the all-screen design.

Apple uses a rounded cut-out in the edge-to-edge display on the iPhone X to house the speaker grill, front-facing camera, and the FaceID system.

OnePlus 6 looks set to follow the ever-growing trend amongst smartphone manufacturers, although we can’t know for sure until the flagship handset launches.

, the company has confirmed.

OnePlus CEO Pete Lau revealed the existence of an all-new OnePlus flagship smartphone earlier this year.

The new smartphone will launch late in Q2 2018, Lau told CNET.

The Chinese smartphone start-up’s second financial quarter runs from April 1st to June 30th.

Elsewhere, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau confirmed the top-of-the-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor will power the next-generation handset.

“Of course, there’s no other choice,” Lau told CNET during the CES tradeshow in Las Vegas earlier this month.

Little else has been confirmed by the Chinese company, however, a swathe of online leaks have revealed new details about the flagship phone.
