Pokemon GO is about to get some impressive new updates.
April will be a big month for the mobile game, with Niantic continuing to add more and more content to the game ahead of the planned Community Day towards the middle of the month.
Details have been unearthed by fans about new plans for the game that are set to go live later this week, as well as a new post from Niantic explaining what we've got in store this week.
It appears that the next Pokemon Go event will include all the Shinies from Generation 1: dataminers are reporting that all Gen 1 Pocket Monsters now have shiny 3D assets within the game code.
This is potentially in conjunction with a new Kanto region event for the game, which was also leaked, earlier today.
Details of which you can find just below the gallery showcasing the new shiny pokemon.
THE NEW KANTO EVENT
From Aprill 11 to April 18, Pokemon GO will have an active Kanto region event.
Originally revealed via a Japanese press release, this event is going to feature increased spawns from any Pokemon in Generation 1 (basically, the creatures you'd catch in the first year of the games life).
This includes higher spawn rates for the three original starters - Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle.
Niantic will also be rotating Snorlax and Aerodactyl into Raids.
You'll also get 2x Candy for capturing and transferring Pokemon during the time the event is active.
Finally, the in-game shop will offer boxes that contain Raid Passes for the duration of the Kanto event.
Though it's not been confirmed by Niantic, Pokemon GO events tend to start at 9pm UK time - so if you're keen to fill the gaps in your Pokemon collection you're going to want to head out in the evening and start catching these Pokemon and getting the bonuses for them, too.
Niantic has confirmed some of the details surrounding their next Community Day event in April.
In a change to the usual formula, it's taking place a little earlier next month on April 15, from 10am BST until 1pm BST.
Equally, there's a slight change to bonuses and next month trainers will enjoy 3-hour lures as well as reduced egg hatch distances of 1/4.
As for the Pokemon in question who will be headlining the event in April 2018, that's also slightly different.
For the first time, the Pokemon GO Community Day will feature a Gen 2 Pokemon, Mareep, the cuddly electric sheep.
The official Pokemon website does mention a special move, but how now it's still remaining a mystery.
Likewise, there's no news about potential shiny Pokemon, however, they have featured in every community day so far, so it would make sense for yet another shiny to make an appearance.
