PS4 at E3 2018 countdown
UPDATE: PS4 first-party exclusive Days Gone has been given a release date by Sony.
The post-apocalyptic adventure has a Februrary 22 release date in 2019.
ORIGINAL: Sony is counting down to E3 2018 with its next major PS4 games announcement.
Sony will follow its Tetris Effect reveal with another big announcement at 4pm BST later today (June 7).
As part of today’s announcement, the PS4 platform holder will confirm the release date for a Sony Worldwide Studios title.
Sony will announces a brand new PS4 game on Friday, followed by a new PSVR game reveal on Saturday.
It culminates with details of an “eagerly anticipated” PS4 game that will also come to PlayStation VR.
“Hey, it’s almost E3 again!” Sony explains. “PlayStation’s got plenty of updates to share – so many, in fact, that we’re going to start the party a little early.”
“The main course will be served at the PlayStation E3 2018 Showcase, which starts early Tuesday morning, 11th June, at 2.00am BST/3.00am CEST – watch it live at playstation.com/e3.
“But we’re preparing some tasty appetisers to hold you over until then.
“Starting Wednesday, 6th June at 4.00pm BST/5.00pm CEST, join us at live.playstation.com, Twitch, YouTube, Facebook and Twitter as we count down to E3 with new game announcements and updates each day leading into Monday’s Showcase.”
And the E3 rumours are coming thick and fast, especially ahead of the Sony conference.
The latest reports suggest that Bloodborne 2 will make an appearance at the Sony conference.
This all stems from a 4Chan post, in which a user posted an image of what appears to be the running order for Sony’s conference.
The leak suggests Sony will open with Ghost of Tsushima, followed by MediEvil, a new PSVR party game, Spyro: Reignited Trilogy and Spider-Man – which is said to be VR compatible.
Things start to get interesting with the claim that Devil May Cry 5, Resident Evil 2 Remake, BioShock Resurgence and Bloodborne 2 will all be revealed during the conference.
Perhaps Sony will prove a few of these rumours true with this week’s reveals.
