Bethesda fans were treated to a brand new RAGE 2 trailer yesterday and as exciting as that was, anyone with an interest in the game is likely more intrigued by the gameplay trailer reveal coming later today.

There's no clear time frame on when this trailer could drop, but it's likely to be this afternoon, possibly around the same time that the games first trailer dropped around 3pm in the afternoon.

As mentioned, fans will be eager to see what the game looks like since that first cinematic trailer did little but to reinforce the games post-apocalyptic, mad max-esk setting.

We do, however, have a few details about the game revealed by the games own section on the Bethesda website.

For starters, we know the game is coming to PS4, Xbox One and PC.

Sorry Switch fans, maybe it's coming in the future, since Bethesda have got right behind Nintendo's console since launch.

Then we also have the game's official blurb, which reads:

"Dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order. RAGE 2 brings together a true open world FPS experience where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything."

However, the most interesting detail can be found in the website's own footer, which reads:

"developed in association with Avalanche Studios."

You might know Avalanche for their work on the Just Cause series and the underrated open-world Mad Max game from 2015.

On top of this, GameSpot has confirmed that this is joint collaboration between Avalanche and id Software, the developer of the first Rage game.

In keeping with the past mockery following the Walmart leak, the official Rage 2 Twitter account also released a new image tweeted out poking fun at the discovery.

RAGE 2 Gameplay Trailer COUNTDOWN: Bethesda's new PS4, Xbox, PC reveal coming TODAY

With E3 2018 just around the corner, it will be interesting to see exactly how much gameplay fans will be shown later today.

Even if RAGE 2 isn't the primary focus of Bethesda's E3 2018 press conference, you would expect that the publisher will still be making a big song and dance about the game.

So maybe today's gameplay trailer is going to be just a small tease.

We wouldn't expect to see a release date either. We imagine that's a detail being held back for Bethesda's E3 conference.

Stay tuned for more details and the gameplay trailer coming later today.
