Super Smash Bros Ultimate was just revealed during the Nintendo Switch Direct conference for E3 2018.

Super Smash Bros Ultimate will release December 7 later this year, exclusively on Nintendo Switch.

It features every character from the series’ history. This is the biggest crossover in gaming history. Here’s the full list:

There’s Mario, Samus, Kirby, Bowser, Link, Donkey Kong, Fox, Falco, Marth, Zelda, Shiek, Villager, Mewtwo and Meta Knight.

And third-party characters like Sonic, Ryu, Cloud, Bayonetta and even Solid Snake.

As well as Peach, Pikachu, Ice Climbers, Inkling, Captain Falcon, Zero Suit Samus, Wii Fit Trainer, Charizard, Ivysaur and Squirtle.

Other characters include Ness, Lucas, Ganondorf, Ike, Pichu, Jigglypuff, Roy, Olimar, Diddy Kong, Lucario and Lucina, not to mention Robin, Mr Game and Watch, Greninja, R.O.B, Dr. Mario, Duck Hunt, Pit, Dark Pit, Palutena, Corrin, Bowser Jr, Toon Link, Young Link and King Dedede.

Finally, there’s Rosalina and Luma, Mii Gunner, Mii Swordfighter, Mii Brawler, Wario, Little Mac, Pac-Man, Shulk, Wolf, Mega Man, Yoshi and Luigi.

You have to unlock fighters as you go this time around, and 8-player battles are making a return, too.

Many more assist trophies have been added, the graphics have seen a massive overhaul and some palette swap characters have different characteristics when you play them (Daisy / Peach, for example).

Fans will also be pleased to hear that Gamecube controllers will also be supported in Super Smash Bros Ultimate.

Amiibo characters can also be used from past releases, complete with saved data.

The team finishes on one more announcement for the game… one more character joins the crew: Ridley.
