Jason Day reveals his text didn’t get a reply from Tiger Woods

While Woods was sidelined battling with a back injury, Day climbed to the top of the world rankings three years ago.

Day has enjoyed an excellent 2018 so far, winning twice on the PGA Tour, including at Quail Hollow for the Wells Fargo Championship last month and is a contender to win the US Open this week at Shinnecock Hills.

The Australian has often viewed Woods as a mentor, someone who he can turn to for advice.

But the world No 7 has admitted he was snubbed by the American after divulging details of a text he sent.

He had pleats on them and everything. Old-school stuff. And he didn’t text me back

“I texted him the other day,” Day said.

“I sent him a picture. It was him at this event in 2004, and he had MC Hammer pants on.

“I’m like, ‘Hey, man, look at these pants. They’re terrible.’ He had pleats on them and everything. Old-school stuff.

“And he didn’t text me back.”

Day also believes Woods is starting to look more ruthless with his game too.

“Since he’s come back, his killer instinct is starting to go toward what it used to be,” Day added.

“He’s definitely not as aggressive as he used to be with regard to that…

“He was on the putting green this morning, and he was putting around my hole, and he was annoying me.”
