UFC News: Daniel Cormier celebrates his historic UFC 226 victory over Stipe Miocic
UFC News – Conor McGregor claim denied by Dana White
UFC president Dana White has denied Khabib Nurmagomedov’s claim that the promotion are ‘working on’ his proposed fight with Conor McGregor.
“You know what, I’m not even thinking about Conor till – I’m serious,” White told reporters during the UFC 226 post-fight press conference. “I know they’re saying there are talks, but we’re not talking about a fight right now.
“Conor has to get through July, he’s got to get through July. Whatever’s going to happen to him in July, we’ll figure that out.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen. Is he’s going to get fined, is he’s going to get probation, is he going to get this or that.
“When that’s over with, then we’ll start talking about him fighting.”
I’m not going to fight him if he’s not clean,
UFC News – Daniel Cormier’s warning to Brock Lesnar
New UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier has warned Brock Lesnar he won’t fight him if he fails another drug test.
“I’m not going to fight him if he’s not clean,” Cormier said during the UFC 226 post-fight press conference. “We’ll do USADA testing, and we’ll do other testing.
“We’ll do testing above USADA to make sure this man’s clean, because I’m not going to fight him if he’s cheating.
“I’ve done that on a number of occasions already (with others). I don’t want to fight him if he’s dirty, man. Do it the right way.”
UFC News – Jon Jones’ USADA punishment
Jon Jones’ manager Malki Kawa is confident the United States Anti-Doping Agency will bestow their punishment on the former UFC light-heavyweight champion for his failed UFC 214 pre-fight drug test before the end of the month.
“I’m very confident we will have a decision on this thing by the end of this month,” Kawa said during an appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Show. “They’re pushing hard. I know everyone involved is working hard to come to a resolution.
UFC News: Jon Jones is still awaiting punishment for his failed drug test
“I know that the UFC is anxiously waiting and we’re dealing with USADA on a daily basis. They’ve been really good with us as far as really investigating this thing and looking at it from a lot of different angles and stuff.”
He added: “To me, this program should not try to punish guys that they know aren’t trying to cheat. To them, the right thing could be he’s innocent but he’s still going to have suspension because he was negligent.
“So, you can get punished for being negligent, you can get punished for cheating. We’ll see what they come up with this time.
“I’m hoping he gets cleared in the next month or so and that the opportunity to fight presents itself. If it’s next year, early next year or whatever it is, I’m confident.”
