Liverpool fixtures: Jurgen Klopp will get the new season underway against West Ham

The Premier League season may not get underway until August 11, but Liverpool fans can begin pencilling in key dates after the fixtures were released this morning.

Jurgen Klopp’s side enjoyed an up-and-down season last year as their free-flowing attacking football drove fear into every Premier League defender.

But some poor defensive displays in the first half of the season cost them dearly as any hopes of challenging for the title dissipated.

Virgil van Dijk helped shore up the defence as Liverpool embarked on a memorable Champions League campaign before suffering heartbreak in the final against Real Madrid.

There is plenty of hope already for Liverpool fans with Fabinho and Naby Keita bolstering Klopp’s midfield options.

And there is expected to be more additions in the coming weeks as the Liverpool boss looks to build a squad capable of battling for the title next season.
